I had a tasty 21 yr old Japanese Whiskey last week; Nikka Taketsuru pure malt.

Picked up an over-proof bottle of Nikka from the barrel yesterday along with a Glenlivet 15 yr old.  Some Makers Mark and Knob Creek for Old Fashioneds

Hoooly...how was it, and how expensive? Over here Japanese whiskey are quite pricey.

MacMillan 12 Sherry is a great one. Unfortunately a bit pricey.

Yes, I was totally wrong, err dizzy from a nice dram.

But it is definitely not peaty like Ardbeg. More mellow.

If you got the chance...try it. Or buy it.

GF bought it in Japan.  Says it's not that expensive there.  Go figure. Real smooth.  I'll need to acquire a bottle.

Having a glass of the Nikka From The Barrel right now.  Pretty interesting stuff. GF is a fan

I could still bang my head against the wall for not having bought any Single Malts when I was in Japan 2016.

I think I get myself a bottle of Tomatin 12 on the weekend, or a bottle of Jameson Black Barrel.

And I still got an unopened bottle of Redbreast 1 but prob won't open that.

Last year she brought back a bunch of Shochu and Yuzu Saki. Trips previous has been J.Spec Scotch/Whiskey right to Canada's weird booze limits. Yesterday I picked up a bottle of Yuzi Saki from some weird wine store in Kits.

Had a pour of Glenlivet 15 yr French Oak Reserve last night afterwards.
