What can be done with them?
Someone stole my GF's car insurance papers, just wondering if they can use them for anything thats going to unkowingly fuck us over.
Seems like a pointless thing to steal to me.
Ha Ha! Made you look.

Yup. Time to change your name.
As long as it was the part about the insurance, not the banking part (if you pay monthly for your insurance). Agents give you both when you renew but stress not leaving the bank portion in the car.
Im sure there is another scam in there somewhere but i am not sure of the angle of what info they can use from the info they stole.
WTF, Over?
Do you have a garage? Or garage door opener? A buddy of mine once had his car broken into. The thieves only took one thing - a Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young cassette tape. (For anyone under 45, that's several songs recorded by a musical band on iron oxide coated tape - like a playlist - recorded around the same time called an "album").
My car was broken into on Sunday night. They took my aviators and my hydration pack. They also took a cup with nickels and dimes in it, but left the twoonies I had sitting on the dash… Never thought to check for my papers.

apparently there are cases where people will try to drive around with stolen insurance papers, but it's more likely to be a case of trying to steal an identity.
not really the identity I would want to steal, but that could just be my opinion
Make sure the plates on the car are still hers and haven't been swapped out with ones from a similar stolen car.
I'm the best at being modest !

good call.
then call the cops.
Sometimes they just take it all in a hurry to go through later hoping to find receipts with visa information on them or the moron that left the sheet with his payment schedule and bank account information from icbc folded up with his insurance papers. Chances are all your insurance papers are in a garbage can within 5 blocks of your house and if you had your payment information with it well go change your bank account.
hmmm mine have been stolen from wb staff housing a few years back i didnt think anything of it
