anyone familiar with car alarms?

I've just put a compu star alarm in my truck and everything works fine except….the alarm won't go off. The keyless entry works, hood pin works. led works. I have the shock sensor on the most sensitive setting and I can shake the whole truck and the led stops flashing like it will go off but it doesn't. I'm going to call the company tomorrow and maybe go to a+b sound if they cant help me.

Is it the alarm or the siren? Can you start the vehicle after you trip the alarm? If not, the alarm is fine, but the siren connection is the problem. If you can start the vehicle, any number of things can be wrong.
