Article below is about four Swedish police officers on vacation in NY, they calmly handle a brawl on the subway between two persons - no one gets hurt. Professionalism at its best.

Someone in South Carolina calls the cops about a home invasion, police show up and shoot a black guy standing in the doorway. Turns out he is the homeowner. Oooops.

As I've said before, my American friends tell me there isn't a race issue in the United States.

No there's not! Obama said so.

That's a much more complicated situation. The owner fit the description of the burglars, and was holding a firearm.

I've been down here for the last year. There is a race problem here.

That said, this latest incident is complicated as Switch said. The guy was very similar in age and race to the suspects, and apparently didn't drop his weapon when challenged by the cops.

Shoot first, ask questions later.

Especially if the would be victim is black.

One of the two deputies - identified by authorities as Keith Tyner - shot Heyward after he refused to drop his gun, Watson said.

One of the two deputies - identified by authorities as Keith Tyner - shot Heyward after he refused to drop his gun, Watson said.

"_Charleston County Sheriff Al Cannon apologized for the grave wound Heyward had suffered.

After the 26-year-old resident opened his back door, Deputy Keith Tyner made a “split-second decision” to shoot twice because Heyward didn’t quickly drop his gun, Cannon said. Whether it was a bad decision, the sheriff said, would be up to the State Law Enforcement Division, whose agents are investigating whether the shooting was justified. Tyner is on paid leave."

I only think that will happen if the perpetrators are routinely let go without serving time.

Yes, I'm pretty sure that mass protests against a drug dealer's excessive use of force are just around the corner.

I'm not sure either since 30 officers have died in the line of duty in 2015, not including illness, vs 412 citizens killed by police in 2015 so far… That's more than 13 citizen deaths per officer death…

More like, no wonder all the citizens down there are so twitchy…

*I make no claim to the veracity of these numbers, I just thought it was an interesting illustration…
