holy shit! that's quite the story of getting to his phone to call 911. healing vibes and hope things turn out ok.

We don't know what our limits are, so to start something with the idea of being limited actually ends up limiting us.

Crazy how you never know how your life is going to change.

While I don't know him personally, I've always seen him at various riding areas and he always seemed stoked to be out riding.

Totally wishing him 100% recovery.

Andrew's a super guy. Totally crappy hand he's been dealt. I hope he makes a full recovery.

So sad for Andrew, he was one of the designer testers for my bike (gt distortion) . I totally feel for him, back in 1994 I had a series of accidents (slipped on a railroad tie landing on my lower back), hurt it again paddling Lynn creek go over a falls, finally sailing accident on a Laser out a Jericho the day the bc lion wons the gray cup.
I heard a snap and lost the use of legs. Straight to emerg with friends. Turned out to be 2 discs badly herniated along with swelling and massive muscle spasms caused my nerves to blocked.
His is so much worse but lots of hope. I had 3 back surgeries also found a fracture a T5 but I am riding, surf kayaking and snowboarding and I turn 50 this june.
I wish him well ,it will be a long recovery I'm sure but I know how scary it can be.

I found out that he had to wait 40 minutes for an ambulance because of all the junkie overdoses they felt he was less in danger even though he was paralyzed . He was two blocks from the hospital .
That is so messed up ..

Are you saying we should prioritise certain members of society over others?

If a doctor and a teacher have a heart attack at the same time, who should we respond to first?

How about a lawyer and a garbage man?

What if that junkie was your daughter?

this really should be in another thread, but I think the news reported a 10 car pile up on the freeway and a fire as a cause for their extra time to get there. Also roads were cited as being still in a crappy state. Totally sucks that he had to wait though.

Ya, maybe this should be in another thread. The subject is a fallen brother who has a battle ahead of him. Healing vibes to him.
