How much money does Bezos need? He could pay his workers a living wage and still have enough money for himself.
I was under the impression that the pay is fairly average but they suck to work for.
Either way, I haven't bought anything from them in years. I'm still paying for prime for the streaming but it's pretty shit with all the premium content sprinkled into the main menu.
I think they were shamed into paying $15 fairly recently but working conditions, especially inside, are simply medieval.

I agree. For those kind of cats, it's never enough money.

According to RWDSU, a total of 3,215 ballots were received from Amazon's Bessemer workers. NPR reports that as of Thursday evening, the unofficial vote count stood at 1,100 against unionizing and 463 in favor.
Amazon’s anti union scare tactics seem to be working. Shame.
It's easy to see how Amazon is able to provide its products so cheaply and undercut its brick-and-mortar competitors when it doesn't need to play by the same rules.
Shops that once provided society with tax revenues to pay for education and health care have been replaced by a global behemoth that in 2018 had revenues of $233 billion and a market value approaching $1 trillion and yet paid no federal income taxes and actually got a tax refund of $129 million.
