Yes.

There are tons of great motivational videos on YouTube and this is one of the better ones.

Here’s the thing that blows all of that away though. There are plenty of people that want to live a better life but don’t have the tools, for a multitude of reasons, to make that happen. Ask yourself if you know someone in that situation and if there’s something you can do to help them. Often it doesn’t take much more than a little bit of time and words of encouragement to make a difference to someone.

"That" doesn't blow it away in the slightest.

You are saying, "If you are good enough follow these words, do it, otherwise wash the fucking dishes."

not saying that at all, and I don't see my words suggesting that either. just saying  that if you are good enough then don't only take care of yourself but help someone else out too.

Two flip sides:

a) If "I'm" good enough, no one will take care of "me".

b) by supporting the lesser efforts of the lazy, we both condone and encourage it. There will be more and more of "them" and thats basically why Socialism doesnt work.

Both of those are fallacies.

1. By helping others you also help yourself.

2. Making the assumption that someone who puts out lesser effort is lazy is a pretty ignorant thing to say and is generally untrue.

Reread that. I see what you’re saying now.

Not sure what it has to do with the vid.

I started reading a really good book on changing habits a few weeks ago, it is called "Atomic habits" by James (no pun intended, I guess) Clear.

Lots of useful info.

The last three years I really digged deep into counselling and self-help and self-improvement books due to a number of facts, and the most important issue I often see is that people need to feel and see the urgency of change in their own lives. Acknowledging the need for change is paramount.

You’re second point is , to me at least, total crap. Being a good person and caring for or about those around you has absolutely nothing to do with socialism. Save it for that other thread.
