All done on commercial rigging of course.

Try doing that in a 17ft boston whaler, with 50lb test, standard hali poles, then add 125lbs to the fish. We had to get the Hi-Ab (crane arm, lift, whatever you want to call it) to lift the damn thing out of the water, because it got towed behind the whaler all the way in.

biggest hali ive seen in person was 180 something pounds.

I saw an ocean sunfish while we were out and holy shit, those get huge, I thought it was a whale poking its head out of the water, had to be 1500-2000 pounds.

Any pics? That's only 24 lbs off of the IGFA record for pacific halibut.

And where did this happen? Because the BC rod [HTML_REMOVED] reel record for hali is 320lbs
