@syncro we are almost the exact same size. I always find I am in between medium and large. Very frustrating as I have longer torso for my height. I ride custom speccd sz med Gt distortion which has 580 top tube it gives loads stand over clearance but stems shorter than 45-50 cramp my cockpit.
I find at 5ft8 most bike designs don't have low enough top tubes for my liking.
Get fitted, or find someone with a bike and take it for a spin.
Been on a road bike before?
I'm 178 with an 86 inseam (measure with that bar RIIGHTTT up there, I usually wear 32" jeans).
I ride a 56 competition sized Opus frame (they fit smaller), and now a 54 r3.
Most people who haven't been on road bikes before prefer a bigger frame with a shorter stem…
