I had read elsewhere that Svein Tuft was hoping to be on Garmin's TdF roster this year, but I guess he's not fully recovered from his injuries:

It'll be interesting to see how Farrar does. Vande Velde too, and that old guy (Lance) is looking pretty fit these days.

That's too bad, was rooting hard for Svein to go contend. At least Ryder's in it - he's been riding well this year.

Tuft isn't having a fairytale year in Europe, but I wouldn't write him off yet, as its a steep learning curve over there among the best of the world's best.

He's been there before, he knows what its all about. I say shit house luck for Tuft this year, but then again this year isn't over…..

Well at least Tuft in in Quebec defending his TT crown. He will then be helping Meier defend his road title.

The Unfortunate Thing Is The Course Does Not Suit Meier At All. The Last Hill Is 20 Km From The Finish. Tuft Might Actually Be A Better Candidate For The Win.

The Tuft news isn't nearly as surprising and Horner and Gerrans not getting the nod as workhorses for Astana and Cervelo, respectively. They can't TT like tuft, but I think most thought these guys would be huge asset to their teams.

Well, if Vaughters wants to look for TdF TTT as TeamGarmin highlight, it sure looks like a mistake leaving Svein off the squad. Our boy from Langley just crushed the ITT @ nationals putting 7+ seconds into 2nd place (meier), and 3rd place was in another time zone.

BC boys killed it in general at Nat's so far. Zach 3rd, Routley 5th, Sidic 8th, and in the U23 Anderson was 2nd, and Campbell 3rd.

Quebec may have an awesome road scene, but I like how the product's of our perversely-hilly BC road scene are holding their own.
