120 km solo breakaway to win the road race yesterday, and easily won the ITT on Thursday.
I don't think Orica has named their Tour team yet, but I assume that if Tuft is at Nationals, he isn't expecting to go, or maybe these results get him there.

Final team selections for the TDF were announced a few days ago. No Canadians in the 2014 Tour De France :-(
Bummer. On the other hand, it should be a good superweek if he and Meier are coming out for it.
Tuft is going to the Tour.

Ryder is out?
My google skilz can't seem to spit out Garmin's TdF team selection anywhere. Though there are lots of articles from Monday about Millar getting dropped from their nine. No mention of who will fill Millar's spot yet.
Millar seems pretty pissed about it.
Edit: Found an article, looks like Ryder is off the team. http://www.roadcycling.com/news-results/team-garmin-sharp-poc-announces-2014-tour-de-france-roster#.U7QtQrHwpWU
Second edit: I guess it was Ryder's choice? http://www.vavel.com/en/cycling/358684-cycling-round-up.html
When one person suffers from a delusion, it is called insanity.
When many people suffer from a delusion, it is called religion.
Ryder was saying at the end of the Giro that he planned to skip TdF and ride the Vuelta.

"We just walk around, and sometimes we go out and dance, and then we listen to the environment."-Ralf Hutter, Kraftwerk

That's cool. He wasn't on the original team list.

Seems like he's looking to do well in the Vuelta. Probably means he won't be at the UCI Worlds, unless he performs below expectations at the Vuelta. He had a good Giro, and recovered from a bad start.
Many rider use the Vuelta are training for the Worlds so we might see him special since the Worlds are in Spain.

I think he has a much better chance of winning the Vuelta (or at least one or more stages) than the World Championship!
The World's are heavily stacked in favour of countries with high UCI rankings. The higher your country's ranking, the more riders for your team. Canada would be lucky to have 2 riders in this year's Worlds. Trying to win the Worlds with Cycling Team Canada is like trying to win a hockey game with 5 players dressed and 20 players for your opponents.
From his recent history, it seems like he is focusing on his career with Garmin than with Canada (and who can blame him?). I don't think he has participated in the Canadian Championships for several years.
