^^^ thanks for the review site, it led me to the performance bike website where i decided to order this:

http://www.performancebike.com/bikes/Product_10052_10551_1111869_-1_400133__400133

reg $200, on sale for $130, plus black friday special of another 20% off works out to $104. they also offer free shipping (14-21 days) but charge $35 for an oversized item . if you select the fedex shipping for $19 (7-10 days) the oversize charge drops to $14 - so same price but you get it faster vs the free shipping.

i only plan to use it occaisionally and mostly for short interval workouts.
the reviews are positive so for $136 it's seems to be the best deal around by far for a trainer.

sale is on until sunday

But where are you shipping it to? My recollection of the last time I ordered to Canada from Performance is that they shipped Fedex who of course charged the extortionate "brokerage fee" before they would deliver.

My $100'ish order became $300.

The only time I order from Performance now is for in store delivery when I know I'm going to be south and I can pick it up in Scottsdale.

hmmmm - maybe i'll swithc back to usps free shipping then.

Yeah, always take the USPS option.

Unless you buy something from Jenson, which awesomely provides an "all-in, duty, everything" guaranteed price to Canada (and they ship via UPS so it's quick). Not always the rock bottom cheapest, but often very competitive and very convenient.
