I bought a trainer and I hate it.
Much rather use a spin bike at the gym.

Kurt Kinetic. $440 and uses magnets to drive the fluid side…meaning no seals to fail down the road. Most solid fluid trainer I've seen.

I have a Minoura VFS and am quite happy with it. Ramps up the resistance as you pedal faster.

I actually picked up Testy's unit. That didn't sound right at all.

It does the trick. I pedal, I breathe hard, I sweat. Particularly that last one. The wind sure makes riding a lot drier. Gonna pick up a trainer tire though, don't want to do anything funky to my Gatorskins…

Any good repositories of workout plans y'all care to share? I'm not sure I have a goal in mind with regards to cycling, I guess just pushing my lactate threshold will do. Is heart rate training still passe?

Power is the new Heart Rate although I'm still using heart rate. Can't afford a Computrainer or Powertap :(

I had a Kurt Kindetic Cross Country which was run by bearings and a tension wheel… it caught on fire. I phoned them and they send me the Road Machine. Super hyped on that thing. Fluid Trainers are the only way to go, in terms of something stationary… not too sure about the rollers game though.

I've been rocking my mag a few nights a week, rocking some intervals, so far so good. I can see that I'm going to run out of resistance in a little while. Gotta step up to a 52 or 53… :P

Downloaded a couple of these (1.0 and 2.0 are available). Tried the 1.0 today and holy fark! 45 minutes long. 5 minute warmup, 6 cool down. 20 minutes in I was sucking wind big time.

Gotta pace yourself on these suckers. They come at you like a coyote - all nice and calm, nothing to see here, then BAM, throat attack.

Try the Aero Base Builder (there are three) videos, great for aerobic/recovery days and for switching between the interval-based workouts, also off-season maintenance. The hill climbing one is good, too, although neither are for short attention spans.

Actually, there's 6 base builders. I also have 27 - Threshold Test [HTML_REMOVED] Suffer Fest. Sounds cryptic.

Nice catch. I often rate the videos by the hotness of the female athletes. They should make a Spinerval best-of-babes series, sales would go through the roof.
