Come to think of it, Basso could be in trouble tomorrow too. I don't recall Basso having much experience on the cobbles.

The finish today wasn't a protest of the course or conditions. With so many crashes [HTML_REMOVED] injuries, the riders (led by Cancellara) decided it would be unfair to race home. The race officials decided to cancel the sprint points for the day, which allowed the peleton to finish as one. A couple of sprinter teams didn't agree, but there was no sense on sprinting for no points, so they came in with the pack. Expect some "official" team statements Tuesday on the no points decision.

Most of the GC contenders went down. Armstrong, Levi, Kloden, both Schlecks, Contador, Wiggins. Vande Velde is out due to the crash with broken ribs, and Tyler Farrar has a broken wrist. Don't see Farrar sprinting for the wins , let alone grit out the cobbles, without a boat load of painkillers, and won't be surprised if he doesn't start on Tuesday. Julian Dean also took a big spill, but x-rays turned up nothing.

David Millar crashed three times - once over the bars.

Andy Schleck

Frank Schleck

Armstrong

Today was a good stage. Ryder was oh so close!

Vinokourov once again puts the hurt on his team captain. Although it looked like Conti got a flat at the end.

2h30min of meh, followed by an hour of awesomeness!

Way to go Ryder!

This trip to Kelowna was definately an undertaking - Liam and I had been planning this project for 24 hours. We worked really hard to pull out all the stops in this video. We had slo-mo goggle shots; time lapses; pedal flips; outrageous product shots; unloading and loading the bike; walking through the field with your hand in wheat. At the end of the day this trip was all about just getting out and riding with all my friends.

What a great stage. will be interesting what lance has to say about it.

Suddenly getting beat down by Ryder back in the day don't feel so bad.

Tough day for teh Lance. Every chance he gets he talks about how important the team is, and how his team is better. Where was his team today? Popo was the only one to survive the crash? Didn't hear anything about Levi or Kloden all day.

Saxo kicked ass, Astana had Vino. Radio Shack had a bunch of old pretenders.

Lance's team were non existent but Lance looked great. Riding off the front of two guys like that is impressive.

Vande Velde abandoning may be huge break for Ryder's career. At the very least it should make the tour a whole lot more fun for him and the other Garmin domestiques.
