Steel Cross Bikes with Discs?

Great to see Lynskey getting into the OEM game and building for giants like Salsa and Kona, but that Rove is a long-ass bike with a 435mm chainstay, and will get eaten alive by the Colossal Ti and Lynskey Sportive Disc!

That steel rove is also a TANK. Hoping the Viage and steel colossal aren't that heavy.

We haven't seen the steel Viage yet, but both versions of the Colossal are stout bikes, putting rough-road all-day strength and durability ahead of weight. That said, Ed likes the steel Colossal enough to be building up as his next personal bike.

That said, weight is never really a frame issue per se; it's a money issue! ;)

FYI Lynskey apparently doesn't build ti frames for Salsa now as they couldn't do the more complicated tube shapings Salsa was after. I might be wrong, but probably am not, since I read it on the internet :D

Also, it's (still) not steel or exactly a cross bike, but the alu warbird I mentioned upthread turned into a ti one. My bicycle-mans says "get the aluminum one, and have money left over for upgrades."
…Then he emails and says the ti one is so choice(and SHINY)…and the killer.."I'll give you a smokin' deal"

Preliminary review: it is very good at going very fast on gravel
Thought of colossal, but I wanted room for big tires.

I doubt that, more like the only company that can.

well hows' this . . . literally the first shift on the front derailleur was enough to break it . . . can't buy one , gotta buy a pair , 425 $

got 0 zero support from the shop/supplier to warranty it , wouldn't even consider it , so i've made it my business to shit talk tiagra brifters ( love everything else shimano ) every chance i get .

apparently there is a tiny little piece of metal linkage in there that was known to be a problem , but admitting it was as far as they'd go . i'm very easy on equipment , so if i broke it , either i got a defect set or they are shit . . .

so like i said , total shit , stay away .
