At the Gastown Grand Prix….not one, but two, Lamborghini pace cars….

If ever you needed proof that cycling is now the new golf….

Last year was an Aston Martin sports car, don't remember the model.

Men's race still running. Solo rider has about 200m on the peleton with about 5 laps to go. Race was delayed after pace car knocked over a commissar (seriously!)

pics?

We don't know what our limits are, so to start something with the idea of being limited actually ends up limiting us.

Hope she kept that Lambo mirror as a souvenir.

They should start using EVs for pace cars - faster accel out of the tight corners means less chance to interfere with riders, and no exhaust to spew into leaders' faces.

And even quieter for sneaking up on stupid spectators playing in the road when they should be behind the barricades :)

Also only in Vancouver …

- the Lambo had a green "N" on the back and was driven by a 17-year old
- a pedestrian runs out onto the street without looking
- the Lambo hits the pedestrian

Even worse if she was a race official.

Debate? Bikes are made for riding not pushing.

Pretty stupid but that car was going way to fast. And keep in mind it's a bike race and the road is officially closed. Even one of the photographers moves out of the way… The pace car driver is an idiot as well.

The mirror was smashed into many pieces and the marshals had to spend quite a bit of time picking sharp pieces of plastic ( or maybe carbon fibre!! ) out of the cobblestones to prevent punctures in the racers tires.
I bet that will cost a few $000 of dollars to repair!

That's actually an assumption of mine based on the fact that she was carrying a clipboard at the time…I may be wrong!

(Edit: the organizer's have confirmed she was an official)
