Freedom of contract. We sell them guns that kill them; they sell us drugs that kill us.

The way she pulls away and her ass never leaves the seat due to fatigue is def suspicious.

Another black spot on the UCI. They must be stoked

Not a shock in the context of pro cycling, but still feels as if the line has been crossed and the first nuke dropped.

In a bizarre twist, the rider's father and brother are facing charges for stealing parakeets from a store.

And her brother is serving a doping suspension.

was she actually riding it? i haven't read anywhere that she did but that it was her spare bike in the pit.

Wilier bikes is pissed and threatening legal action… but having a dealer selling them with a motor as option probably doesn;t help - https://www.salden.nl/nl/wilier-triestina-e-cycl-ocrosser-met-trapondersteuning.html

There's no such thing as a "spare" bike at that level of cx racing. They switch bikes several times during the race because of the mud.

The bike used to be hers, but was sold to a friend, and then stored in her pit area so that problem's solved and there's nothing fishy.

I know, I know, her brother popped for EPO and her dad (allegedly) stole some birds, but I don't understand why people don't believe this explanation from her. I mean, why would somebody surrounded by upstanding folks be a cheater?

From what I learned at the Single Speed CX World Cup in Victoria, cheating is encouraged. Whats the problem?

This has been hinted at and rumored about for years. I remember hearing about it back in 2010 during the spring classics that Cancellara easily dominated.

I could easily see this being pretty rampant at the top levels of road cycling. Heck, Greg LeMond even built up a bike to demonstrate to the press how easily it's achieved…

What will be really interesting is if there's a "Festina" moment for motorized doping where an entire team is found at the Tour de France with motorized bikes or something.

Ride, don't slide.
