The first race was last night, and was pretty fun…except for the part where I had an epic fail which resulted in a broken frame and sore neck. These are going down the next 2 tuesday nights as well. It happens at the Ridge Meadows BMX track which is just at the east end of the Pitt River Bridge.

Does it happen on the actual BMX track? Any rules stating you can't just bring a BMX bike?

part of it is on the bmx track, part of it is on the grass, and part of it is on gravel. I don't know about the rules…give Local Ride a shout and ask. I think there was a kid on a mountain bike in the NewB category.
I was out there with Tom, a bunch of other guys and the usually Local Ride crew. The course is short but a lot of fun. There's barriers, gravel, grass, a steep little run up hill that can be shouldered or ridden if you hit it right and three bits of rhythm sections from the BMX track. Perfect atmosphere for the little guys, new racers and ladies. You can come and just have fun being out on your cx bike or you can charge hard at the front with the usually Local Ride guys till you can get that feeling that a lung wants to explode out of your throat.
I seriously want to check that out but traffic may prevent me from making the start time…

There is a new on/offramp from the freeway to the mary hill bypass…super fast now. Just that whole stretch to the Brunette exit however…
yeah that's the problem… and hastings/burnet is no better cause construction around willingdon is f*cked these days….

You might be a little late to the party. I'm under the impression that cyclocross season is from September until people get sick or riding drop bars in the mud.
I believe the 2015 single speed cyclrocross world championships are on the island next weekend.
