What time is day of registration open? Is the course open for pre-riding before the race?

day of reg, should be open at 9-9:30. pre riding can start as soon as the course is marked, probably before the reg opens. It would be good to do the run ups and single track a bit to get the layout down, so you have no surprises.

Anything else I need to know if I have never raced CX before?

If your eyes aren't bleeding, legs aren't screaming, you can talk/smile/think about anything else outside of racing or you can actually manage to grab any of the hand-ups… you aren't going fast enough. ;)

You got that right. In cyclocross you recover after the finish line. You have to be pinned the entire time. I used my pulse meter a couple times. Maxed at 196 and averaged 186 for the 45 minute master event. At age 52.

Debate? Bikes are made for riding not pushing.

i can appreciate the fitness of this sport…but ANY sport that encourages the wearing of nutcrackers by spectators is suspect with me…

print out confirmation is good for Aldor Acres. if you only want to try it out a citizen license is a good choice.

Dan is at the f'ng hardman level of cross, I am a wuss, I try to enjoy the pain and courses.

I think the best think to do is come out have fun and than start to push the suffering.

HA! We all start somewhere. It is the most fun race/event that I have done as you pass the same people over and over again heckling the crap out of you! DH you pass the pack twice, CX you pass em at least 7 times.

Come out and give it a try… super fun and great vibe.

Results from today should be up at vancouver cyclocross coalition blogspot, I would guess tomorrow, or maybe Tuesday at the latest.

Stellar course at Aldor Acres, and a great time all around! Props to Matt at Brodie Bikes and the rest of the 'Cross Coalition, and all of the volunteers and sponsors for putting together a fine day of heckling in the sunshine.

Do better next race and I will have to find different heckles for you and your touring bike. If you were towing a B.O.B then there would be just cause for your walking up the hill. :)
