I raced B category last year and XC bikes were quite competitive there too. That said, XC racing is really tough, and anyone with experience doing it would have an advantage in CX. A 24 pound XC bike with bigger tires, disc brakes, and 80 or 100mm of travel is not really a disadvantage compared to a 20 pound CX bike on some courses.

Without a doubt. It is basically all flat with a few very short sections up and down a dyke. Good times though.

Very likely yes, I will be racing the Pumpkin Cross again this year in a costume of some sort and a bike that will stick out like a sore thumb.

maybe there is some collector out there who MAY appreciate the bike for what it is , but i have a feeling he is either ( a ) going to have to drastically reduce his reserve , or ( b ) set it up for his son to ride :lol:
if he was anywhere near serious about selling it for that price he should have at least put some time in to prep it to reflect its' past racing glory .

That much I figured, i was more concerned with angles and such.
Drop bars come in numerous sizes shapes and configurations. I prefer the ultra short reach and short drop FSA compact or TTT versions. I am short and it used to be that riding the drops was painful. Now I can ride the drops easily for pretty long distances without extraordinary neck issues. The alternative is to have the bars too high for the hood position just to ride drops.
Debate? Bikes are made for riding not pushing.
