You are doing the measurements right, inseam is not your pant size.

.

what is the right way to do it?

edit. i watched the video and did it right. i guess im just worried because my inseam and the standover of the 57cm are about the same. and im wondering if thats too tight.

Okay, you need to do some reading up on how a road bike is supposed to fit, Google is your friend, cus I don't have the time to write and hours worth of stuff for you. After that come back with more specific question's about fit and I'll be able to help.

Stand over doesn't mean a thing to bike fitting unless you want to buy a run bike, and something tells me you're older than that!

In general… someone who is 5'11 will fit between a 56 and a 58 cm frame depending on leg/torso length. Do you have long legs for your height, and a short body and arms? if so a 56cm would/could fit…. see where I'm going with this.

Read Read read.

Top tube length, and head tube length mean more than most other things.

fuck that just go to a shop rainmaker - you start spouting your "google knowledge" and they'll either take pity and set you straight or pawn some overstock off on you that's as likely to fit as not. mail order and you're going to fail (which of course is half the fun)

I saw on MTBr there is a rumour that Ashima possibly has a STI type hydraulic brakeset in the works.

You've missed 4 great races already this season - time to stop overthinking and DO IT.

Hey! That's my bike, my name is Andy and I have Scottish roots.

Debate? Bikes are made for riding not pushing.

New Brighton yes, but last year's Vanier course I disagree - too flat. I will be at both of these races.

I did the Pumpkin Cross last year in Maple Ridge. Should be a good time again this year. Here is the video from the race.

My costume for the whole race was full DH body armour, a full face helmet and goggles on a 6x6" bike. Apparently I didn't come in last place either
