I also posted this in the gravel bike conversions thread.

I'm considering a new frame and looking at a Super Something (Sklar) to replace the Krampus. Does anyone know of other frames that are a little more mtb than road / gravel geo and will fit reasonable tyres - say 29x50s. I don't want to go full dropbar mtb as the Krampus already does this.

I'm getting a bit of a taste for the road and want something a little lighter and more supple than the Krampus but not with a silly steep HA like most gravel bikes seem to have. It also need to do singletrack....

I'm old.

I still suck at mtb.

I'm tired of getting hurt.

Sell mtb and get gravel?

:(

1/2 venting, 1/4 joking, 1/4 serious

I'm really enjoying my converted Krampus.  The Solaris Max and Murmur haven't been ridden in weeks.

I’m considering converting my old school Karate Monkey to gravel duties. Currently have 29er Velocity Blunt rims. Any suggestions for a decent gravel tire for my big rims?

yardrec - did you gravel your KM?  I've done the same on my Krampus and it is great.  The https://nsmb.com/forum/forum/gear-4/topic/mtb-gravel-bike-conversions-132626/ has a bit on what i've done.

Oooh.  The Sklars look very nice.  I think you can get "production" models made in Taiwan and "custom" models made in the US.

Sounds like you want "all terrain bike" instead of "gravel bike."  The ATB is the current (old-school) term for adventure bikes that fall between mountain bike and gravel bike.

I'm kind after something gravel but with more drop bar mtb geo.

The Sklar PBJ looks super tasty but is quite similar to my Krampus w/o the angleset.

Hi M. Does the Singular Swift still exist. Mine (long gone now) worked well singlespeed with 29 Stan’s Crow tyres and WTB dirt drops as an “early” gravel type.

Neil - it does but again it's very similar to the Krampus sans angleset.  I do like the angles ut looking for something a little more gravel rather than ATB.  Maybe something like the Peregrine - https://singularcycles.com/products/peregrine

No but I can in UK.

I saw these the other day and they look great - very progressive geo for gravel.

71 degree HA on a L so not massively - plus it's plastic and i'm not a plastic bike kinda guy.

I'm after something with a 69-70 HA and longish reach (for a gravel bike) so I can run a shorter stem and steel.  Kinda somewhere between gravel and dropbar mtb.  Like the Sklar Super Something.

Anyone around these parts riding or ridden a Fairlight Secan or Faran?  They have piqued my interest.

Knolly Cache

My Knolly Cache is about 3 cm longer reach than the CX frame I've been riding. The sizing chart has me on the next size up but I wanted something closer to old school geo.
