-chrome messenger bag
-trucker or "fidel" hat
-old-school adidas or puma shoes
-studded leather belt
-fitted cuffed pants
-no helmet
-6 pack of PBR

LOL - me no hipster. But thanks for caring.

I can only tick the box of 1 of those 6, and i'm not skinny enough to be hip. Maybe i should give up the fixed riding and slip into the Rockabilly lifestyle - all i'd need to do is grow sideburns and get some check shirts…

Edit - i had to use wikipedia to find out what PBR was :mullet:

I have been thinking about getting a fixed gear soon. I saw this on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem[HTML_REMOVED]ih=005[HTML_REMOVED]sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT[HTML_REMOVED]viewitem=[HTML_REMOVED]item=150045915152[HTML_REMOVED]rd=1[HTML_REMOVED]rd=1

What do you guys think about it? I live in the Reno, NV area if that helps

I figure for 300 bucks to my door step is not bad for a pretty well built 1st timer eh?

If you are not going all the way, why even go at all….

Step 1 - Search craigslist for something in your size that looks pretty - make sure its a road frame that will take gears, pref from the 80's and made of steel
Step 2 - Buy it for $100 - $150
Step 3 - Use the remaining money to convert it/make it unique/ repaint it
Step 4 - Rock out.
Step 5 - post it here and get inspiration for N+1
The dawes has crappy hubs, and this is almost always a downfall to these cheap ebay type deals. Also it looks kinda dull (which is only MO).
