The US anti-doping agency (USADA) now says it will ban Armstrong from cycling for life and strip him of his seven Tour de France titles.

Only problem…only the UCI has jurisdiction to strip those titles.

This is the only reason I can see Lance Armstrong not going to court and disputing the charges.

i think he is quilty of doping but still the usada should have to present their case if they are going to strip him of his titles…

Being guilty would be the other reason…

I agree. If they refuse, it would really smell bad. They should put the evidence on the table.

guilty, not guilty?

I'm of the opinion there's really only caught or not caught, they all do it.

The length of this witch hunt is very disturbing.

you know there's someone with a brain as USADA going "we can't say that we don't really have enough evidence or the authority" and there's some careerist politico looking to his next sweet appointment going "this will get me mad press, fuck it."

Check my stuff for sale!

The wife this morning pointed out part of the problem is that when it comes to this stuff it follows the British view..Guilty unitil proven innocent. Only problem is that there is no court where one looks at the eviidence and each side states thei case. It's pretty much rigged when USADA has control of everything.

The length of this witch hunt is very disturbing.

I have a feeling for many this would be a career maker… " He's the guy who caught Lance". Plus I wonder how much extra funding USADA received simply by pursuing Lance that they would not have received if they simply moved on.

And Greg Lemond must be orgasmic with joy with this.

so what about the fact USADA claims they've retested samples and have evidence of doping? now that lance has dropped his fight, we don't get to see that, so lance can now say they haven't proved anything cause he isn't forcing them to show the evidence……

Boring!
I can't believe we are still talking about this, it has been going on for way too long with no results. We are all pretty sure of the truth, but if you go to these lengths to "get" somebody, you have to go to the same lengths to prove the guy you hand the titles to is actually clean. Otherwise, you are just wasting everybody's time.

USADA needs to move on, catch people who are actually still competing, be involved in cleaning up sports in general, not chasing one guy who has retired already.
