i lust after ambrosio rims even if they are box section.
My old Veloce-to-Evolution wheelset made me giggle. Affordable excellence with traces of Ambrosio Nemesis Paris-Roubaix DNA running through it.

Bikehubstore Taiwanese hubs (290g/set)
Those hubs are crazy light!
I am interested in this mtb252 hub, claimed 252g, $70. Hope pro2 is 285g, $260. DT 240 is 242g, $450.

I might be in the market for that hub as well, if I can find a CX disc frame that meets my needs and budget.
Durability of those hubs is unknown, but by all reports Brandon (bikehubstore) stands by his products.

What are your needs and budget?
hey nsmb, I'm putting this here because it's more appropriate than the 'gear' section.
in the year 2012, if you were building a 32-spoke training/daily ride purpose wheelset to strike a balance between strength and economy, what parts would you use?
I am looking to get something built up, right around 1800g for the set, 32 spoke front and rear, with good quality road hubs that use some commonly available cartridge bearings. semi aero profile. no deep aero and no box section rims. ideas?
Ultegra hubs 14-15 butted DT's, aluminum nipples and Stan's rims with Tubeless Hutchinsons.
Debate? Bikes are made for riding not pushing.

51-52cm top tube, sub-1400 grams, frame only, budget ~$300 (used). Salsa Las Cruces is my ideal frame but has long been out of production and rare to find used in my size.

Rather than start a new thread…
My 11y.o. OEM wheels are on their last legs; breaking spokes, too many whoops in the rims, etc. Thinking of going with the Velocity A23 laced to re-built Dura-Ace hubs.

A23s have been solid and stout for me. Although I am using it on a disc setup.

Do it, I raced A23 rims on cheap Formula hubs for CX 2 seasons. No issues in all conditions and I weigh 210lbs.
