I think Frankie's comments about the feeling that felt pressure to dope in order to make the Tour team ring true in general. Those pro team have 20+ riders and only 9 go to the Tour. They're all competing against each other before the race to secure a spot, and anything is worth a shot.
Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
