I think I'd go with an x-small Giant. Either Comp or Team.

I too am going to plug the Norco six. I am a female rider who is all of 5 1" and particularly short in the leg!! I have an xs, which fits me perfectly and that happens to be up for sale. It's a great deal, so if you're interested, email me at [email protected] for more details.

OK, so the Knolly's been plugged and it's probably too much $$ for an aspiring racer….but why hasn't anyone mentioned the small Cove Peelers and Playmates?

Barb is only 5'2" and the small Peeler fits tight even on her. We've got that bike for sale right now, and we'd be willing to do a bit of a deal or even part it out for you. At the very least, we can probably arrange a test ride and see if it will work. I've got a lot of mileage on getting bikes to work for smaller riders, so we'll know if it's going to be practical or not.

A small Playmate will be slightly lower than the Peeler, and usually a little less money and weight in the bargain.

If she's going for the win, try to stay away from the 24" wheels if at all possible. They just roll too slow to be competitive.

I have a XS Giant Team DH that I was thinking of selling this year, it has a great standover. Would fit 5' person easily.
