Hi!
My girlfriend is just getting into riding seriously, and is in need of some decent gear.
Christmas is coming up, and I thought I'd surprise her with a nice new setup. Already have a helmet, jacket, gloves and a padset! Problem: We are in Korea. Inventory in local shops is pretty hurting, so I have to place an online order for women's DH shorts. I know her measurements, but don't like buying clothing blindly and have to hope for the best.

So: What brand shorts fit a women's figure best? What do you use for DH/trailriding?

Thanks in advance!!!!

Are you looking for something with a shami or more of an overshort? I can help you pick something nice, I work in a shop so I have some decent knowledge, but I am sure all the sweet ladies on the forum can voice an opinion too!

Thanks!

Looking for a DH type overshort, as she already has padded spandex.

I just found the team estrogen site, and am looking it over now. They have a pretty decent inventory geared towards women, so I may end up ordering from here…but it doesn't look like they have what she's looking for, which is a heavy-duty cordura short. Something similar to Roach?

Ok I think the Sombrio Septre short may fit your description? I like the casual fit and the longer length on them. Doesn't look like Roach or Raceface has a women's cordua dh short in their lineup for the fall.

remember to buy them a little larger than you think! especially if she's wearing padded schtuff underneath… they tend to make women's stuff too tight around the waist, and you want some bagginess especially if she's DH'ing.

Ya Sombrio is getting better with their sizing though. I remember 2 years ago their stuff was built for pixies not for this lady. Baby got back.

Oh! Ha ha…Yeah, I have some serious junk in my trunk too! Don't like it when the shorts are too tight ;)

Aaaaahh! Yes! I'm not the only one…good to hear! It's funny that biking can give you such a booty(yarrr!) yet biking shorts and pants RARELY fit the profile… I've pretty much stuck to men's shorts/pants. Although the Women's Troy Lee pants look pretty quality this year… Anyone tried them?

The Troylee stuff is always good. I have a pair of men's shorts from a few years ago and they are still perfect.

Can't find Sombrio anywhere close to here… ended up picking her up a pair of Cannondale Nebula pants, with zip-off legs. Works as pants for winter/shorts for the summer.
Nice construction, and fit her perfect!

Last night I painted her helmet to match her bike, looks good!
She'll be surprised Christmas morning:

Zahgurim, your a rad boyfriend!! Girls really like custom painted stuff - especially if its pinkish! Nice job.
And YES ladies, the TLD pants fit nice although they are bulky. Nice and tuff for cold rides.
