Well actualy it wasn't a theory it worked, the year before I had crashed 4 times in 24 hrs on normal food taken haphazardly, this year I did 1/2 liter of Perpetuem per hr and maybe 8 or 10 hammer gels (taken more towards the end) during the whole event … no stomach problems and no crash

The ultra runner/coach guy was in the same event, on the same fuel, he marks his bottle in 1/4's with a sharpie and makes sure to drink 125ml every 15min, he finished 6hrs faster than its ever been done, I said hey hows it goin Jeff as he powered by, he looked at his HR monitor and said "great! 82%!"

he DID say to test the fuel you intend to use before racing on it, which I did on an 11hr tour, I admit I should have done more testing but it seemed fine and I do have a pretty strong stomach
