So, we have "Dr" Jenny McCarthy talking about vaccines are bad and people buying into it. And some claiming you are a child abuser if you vaccinate your child.

I cannot imagine watching your daughter or sister die from something today that we have the ability to stop.

Even the supposed scientific study study that some claim shows vaccinating your child causes Autism has been shown to have been manipulated.

Read some schools just in Toronto have a exemption rate of 40% from vaccination. Am I missing something here? Or have we become so far removed from watching others die from diseases we halted that we think they are extinct.

when vaccinating our kids last time, our nurse said she has had moms come to the vaccination and ask that the nurse not mention to the other moms that she was there (small town)…for fear of shaming

nelson had an outbreak of whooping cough, could case death, totally preventable. i think the vaccination numbers are the lowest around

Are we actually debating this?

Really?

I thought we (NBR peeps) mostly got that the scientific method and clinical studies were reliable…

I have 21,474,850 rep points...

But Jenny McCarthy and the View ladies are actually Nobel Prize winning experts in this medical field. The View is just their side job.

Why are we allowing unvaccinated children in school?

If a kid can't take a peanut butter sammich to school because of the harm it could cause to other children, then its the same case for vaccinations.

Idiotic anti vaxers. :banghead:

I don't see much difference between not vaccinating and owning a unsecured gun. And then having their child shot another child as a result.

If other kid(s) die or are crippled as a result of their guardian's decision to NOT vaccinate against major infectious illnesses, the Parent should be charged with involuntary manslaughter (criminally liable) and/or held liable for all civil costs associated with treating [HTML_REMOVED] caring for the victims (yes, they are victims of that decision not to vaccinate).

"But freestyler… what about…"

No. Shut up. Also, f*cking Polio.

Just to clarify this point. There have been literally thousands of peer-reviewed scientific papers demonstrating the effectiveness of vaccination programs. In contrast, there has been literally ONE paper published that suggested a link with autism. And it was shown to have been manipulated. And all but one of its authors issued a retraction. And the one author that didn't retract it was found to have vested interests in proving a link, and subsequently lost his medical practitioner's license.

Think about that.

As a new father with an 18-month old daughter and another on the way, I can't believe a lot of the misinformation anti-vaxxer types push regarding vaccines, their safety, and their efficacy. They use that misinformation to put fear into gullible people who would seemingly rather have a dead child than an autistic child.

Think about that for a second. Some people believe vaccines can cause autism. Even if that were true, that means the anti-vaxxer crowd would rather risk their child's life than have them potentially become autistic. They would rather their child die, than be alive with autism. What. The. Fuck. The rage this fills me with is hard to put into words.

If there's a valid medical reason for not vaccinating your child, that's one thing, but if it's because of some moonbat conspiracy theory than fuck off and keep your goddamn disease carrying kids the fuck away from mine.

Dealt with someone recently using this as their base for their argument against. Tried to dismiss and such when I asked for further scientific proof.

Who misses the old days of polio and smallpox?

You know how when your kid vandalizes property or your vicious dog attacks someone you can be stuck with the bill? How about if you don't vaccinate yourself or your child against a communicable disease and they end up spreading it, you have to financially compensate everyone who is affected by your selfishness.
