Going back up the BP stairs from Lynn Valley road after almost 40KM couldn't have been very enjoyable. Well done.
That was a busy weekend on the BP, lots of people attempting the Vancouver 100.

That bit nearly ended me. Luckily it was all downhill from Cleveland dam.
So, the rain is back. What is everyone wearing for running jackets, or do you just accept a good drenching?
I dislike running in rain, but I dislike treadmills more.

Depends on the temp. Today was an icebreaker top-so I went for drenched. When its 8 degrees and colder than just a shell, hat and a single layer underneath. As long as you are moving its never that bad.
Reading the thread I realized it's been almost a whole year since my last run. Wow.
The rain is back here as well, but I really try and ride as much road and forest roads as possible until the snow/frost is coming.
Even for biking it is a compromise, sooner or later I am sweating, but it is still nicer than getting wet from the rain.
Went for my first run last night since doing the Squamish 50 mile last August.
Recovery was a bitch, felt tired for over a month.

Nice one, Congrats.
That must be one bitch of a race, how long did it take you? Being out on a racecourse for that long really tests ones true grit, especially in the heat.
Done a few 10+ hour races and afterwards not the least bit interested in training for a while.
That race is fucked, it feels like you're always going uphill or downhill, hardly any nice rolling trails at all. My IT started locking up with 20 kms to go which left me unable to run any downhills. I finished with 9 minutes left before cutoff. 16 hours and 51 and some change...
Awesome! DNF is out of the question, way to push thru and finish. Yeah i have been told that is a bitch of a race. 9 minutes to spare... gold.
I did an ironman in the USA in 40-45 degree weather a few years back. Was out in the scortching heat for 13 hours ( two longer than anticipated). Legs were so cooked from the heat I couldnt walk for 3 days. Didnt run for months after that. Good to see you are back out running.

Lol I may have held the hug with Gary a bit too long but if I made him uncomfortable he didn't show it. Such a dreamboat that guy...
Ugh I can't imagine any kind of major event in scorching heat. I was walking ok but I had to hop down stairs on one leg holding a handrail for a week.
I'm already starting to think about hundred milers now. Got my eyes on Fat Dog 70 next with my lifetime goal being doing the full 120 mile distance someday. No rush to get there though. It'll be at least 3 years before I do the 70.

So how's everyone's first quarter of the year been? People still running around here?
I'm having my best year so far training wise. Getting out a minimum 3 times a week. Doing a couple 5ks a week in barefoots and long runs on the weekend 21k plus in zero drop altras. Body is holding up better than in previous years.
My focus so far this year has been on form over distance. Discovered I was developing an overstride and have been trying to get my knee out further so my feet land under my hips.
Only doing one ultra this year, 55k across the north shore.
Anyways enough about me, I would like to hear about others years so far and future goals or tips on barefoot running.

Been out regularly. Been running Fromme a lot lately. Keep finding these great goat trails that run along the contour. The work that has been going into NQ has been great to run on also, let alone ride. Havent planned on any races but see what happens. Just love mixing it up run and bike.
