Thanks everybody, much appreciated. It definitely felt overwhelming, and I guess I am "in" next year as well. Just to see if I can crack the 2:17 part. Maybe try and be a few minutes faster? Who knows…..
On a side note, I am back in my garage, lifting again - have not had any decent weight training in the last months……and I am definitely not as "strong" as I have been a few months ago. I could DL 90 kg for 10 reps, the last ones were tough, but still I could lift my bodyweight. I felt good, full of energy and the like.
Last week on Wednesday I started my weight training anew, DL 3x8, and I found 50 kg to be quite heavy. Last year that weight was part of the warm-up. I feel thinner, but not necessarily because of fat loss, rather, in all that training for the half-marathon, I lost muscle mass.
So my plan is to keep lifting three times a week for three four week cycles to get my strength and muscle mass back to the level of last year. I guess I have the chance to make great gains since I am a bloody beginner.
