I've always ate healthy and don't concern myself with vitamins or supplements as I think if you eat healthy you don't need them. That being said something that has always been a problem for me when I'm riding or working out a lot is protein consumption for muscle recovery and muscle gain.
A simple way of estimating daily protein intake is your weight in kg x .8 - 1.4 depending on how active you are. For me its 60 - 105 grams of protein per day. To achieve 105 though is pretty substantial. I've been keeping a rough tally of what I'm eating through food and it's only about 50-70 grams per day.
Lately I've felt that if I took in an extra 20-30 grams as a supplement that this might be a useful tool to increase my daily protein intake.
What's everyone's experience with protein supplements? Which ones have you taken? How did they work? Were they worth the cost? I've seen the Leanfit Whey at Costco and it's less than half the price per serving of the GNC Whey Isolate. Is there really that big of a difference between the 2 products?
