MyFitnessPal is a great app. It really helps track daily food intake and lets you know what food is right for you as well. It also tracks your daily workouts. Some people however, myself included had a bit of a hard time using it the first time. I found this MyFitnessPal walk-through useful.

Bump.

Wanna lose 6-8 pounds. Just cut cheese down 75%, and Beer only on weekends..... ( not tons of beers which is the hardest one to cut out ).

See how this goes for the next couple months. Only getting cardio 3/4 times a week so trying a 20 min mat workout I found on the other days. Let my guard down for a few weeks and chunked out so fast.

You can't out-exercise excessive alcohol consumption or a shitty diet.

Exercise for the health benefits and eat properly and don't drink if you want to lose fat.

Unfortunately it's that easy.

Recommend me a weight loss pill. Not meth, just your garden variety fat burner. Metabolic enhancer, whatever.

Just don't.  They don't work, and if they did they'd end your life quicker.

Eat/drink less.

I have cut way down on sugar. Seems once you cut it out, after a while you don't want it as much. The pounds have been falling off.

215 to 190 since August with dietary changes alone. Wasn't by choice, had bad reflux and esophageal spasms. No more caffeine either, good riddance. According to my watch my average resting heart rate has dropped from 61 to 53.

It's not only what you eat, it's also portion size. I'm sometimes amazed at how much food overweight people can throw down their pie-holes.

It is portion size for sure. Been doing the 16:8 fast since Nov. At first was feeling so hungry all the time now the portions have become way smaller. Probably due to my insulin levels are not spiking like they used to from snacking in the evening.

I’d recommend finding an activity that is the most enjoyable for him so he can perform it regularly. It can be walking, running, riding a bike, attending a sports section or gym, anything that would work best for him. The main thing is to enjoy the process so the results would come naturally and without a struggle. And don’t forget that eating healthier is also very important. No need to fast or exclude all the favorite products. Eating more often and in smaller portions would help metabolism greatly. Adding vegetables, fruits and proteins, limiting the consumption of fast food and alcohol works wonders! I hope he can find the perfect way for him. Good luck to your friend on his weight-loss journey!

Activity helps but weight loss is about what goes in the piehole.

Consider a continuous glucose monitor, ie freestyle libre, and see how your blood sugar/body responds to food and drink…$97 well spent…and don’t cheat and change your intake till you see what happen, lol
