I've had issues with my sinus for a long time now. In June got an xray and something shows up left side. I've had to wait to see specialist ENT for first appointment which is finally coming up on the 19th.
Things have gotten worse, had wicked bad vertigo last month that put me on my back for a week…still a little wobbly at times and a general feeling of unwell with foggy head.
Anyway last week was out for lunch and had a big glass of coke which I rarely drink…free refill so I had another. Buy the end of work I felt totally destroyed it was obviously the sugar.
I think I have a bacteria or fungi issue in my sinus.

Sugar knocks out your immune system for 6 hrs and feeds things like infection. http://alternativehealthatlanta.com/immune-system/sugar-and-your-immune-system/

So it's not inconceivable that while a person fills their maw with sugar and disables their immune system regularly all those baby cancers (which normally get zapped while they're little) have opportunity to take root.

i think there is a fairly big difference between the kind of person who eats dates or dried fruits and someone who eats captain crunch

big as in girth

You probably can't ingest/consume/digest dried figs and dates in quantity (because of all the fibre and cellulose) as fast as you can capn' crunch and lucky charms. Plus the fruit will probably sit in your digestive system longer, being harder to digest and making you feel satiated for longer than a bowl of count choculas with chocolate milk and a heaping topping of pure, white granulated crystals of sugar.

I'm gona generalize that the captn crunch eater will very likely be into other high carb/sugar foods and be from the focus group of people who are sedentary overweight

the last time I ate figs [HTML_REMOVED] dates was on top of a mountain and they were offered to me by a young marthon running/crag climbing/fast hiking/BC skiing/ mtn biker who looked to have zero body fat

in any case fruit whether be dried or not if it has sugar or not, it IS real food while captain crunch is not

You would be surprised. Dried dates are brutal. All dried fruit in any quantity is bad.

what isn't bad in any quanity ?

even too much water which has nothing bad in it at all can cause hyponatremia and in rare cases death

the real question might be why y'all are being deliberately obtuse?

dude c'mon, that's a stretch.

We don't know what our limits are, so to start something with the idea of being limited actually ends up limiting us.

Stevia…

Stevia, yes, and stuff called Xylit (made from birch) are alternatives.

The question I have is:

White sugar is a chemically refined product based on natural ingredients.

So, does the chemical process change/alter the way in which our body does react to it, or does our body react as it would if a person would ingest "whole" sugar as found in dried fruits such as dates and raisins?

Same could be asked for HFCS.

I am curious if our bodies react differently, short and long-term.

Honey.

(although it may be toxic in large amounts and can apparently kill an infant)

This summer we bought 2.5 kilos of honey right from the source when we were down south in the Black Forest, you can actually taste fir and spruce. So awesome in any tea, although my favorite right now is Roiboos with honey.

I started drinking Mate at work to simply curb my coffee intake. Such an awesome tea.

And about honey, since honey is consumed raw, it should not be fed to infants younger than a year, it can seriously f*ck up their intestines, and can be life threatening - intestines of infants have to adapt first.
