Finally got out for my first ride on the bike since its build. after nearly 15 years since riding i can sure feel how out of shape i am. Did 30k of easy riding around north van , then over to stanley park seawall today just to start building up my cardio. Gonna try another 30k + Sunday if my legs will allow it. Feels so great to get out on the bike again
First ride
Congrats, and welcome back to riding. Do you do anything else apart from riding your bike? Just an idea…..maybe a good thing would be to do some light strength training to tell your legs that you are the boss?

Welcome back to the good life! Make sure you stretch a bit after riding, our old bones get tight quickly.

wasn't as bad as i thought, did another nice easy 34k from science world to UBC and back. As soon as i hit the hill up to UBC, thats when i really felt it. Riding the mountain bike with all the roadies out there is a little off, but at least im getting out there. Legs don't feel as bad as i thought they would. Gonna keep the rides on the easier side
wheres a good place to start with some nice long flowy singletrack
put the pacific populaire on your calendar .
april 16 , nat bailey stadium .
ride an easy 100 , 50 , 25 km ride out to richmond and back on a big loop .
keeps you motivated to be putting in at the least maintenance mileage whenever you can get it in , and pull off increasing mileage rides if your schedule , the weather and road conditions permits .
hope you make it out , great ride , great vibe and did i mention cheap ?
If you can handle slumming it south of the fraser, the SORCE and Shed Bike Club parks are great.

Latimer Lake, South Surrey Bike Park, and Delta Watershed are all good for a couple hours tooling around in the woods.
