Yes, wash your balls thoroughly with water and Borax. Then buff them to a glossy shine.

Although it is great as a detergent on mtn bike clothing (mixed 60/40 with powdered laundry soap), it actually gets rid of the stink and keeps it from coming back quickly, which is a problem with polyesters.

why ask why? borax is used to cure salmon roe for bar fishing

I've used it as a pH buffer for my hot tub.

Mixed with sugar water kills ants.
