So… this guy is going to attempt to do 50 ironman triathlons in 50 days. 1 a day consecutively.
First: mad respect - clearly I'm a lazy prick.
Second: Is this possible without drugs/killing yourself?
WTF?!?

Not only is he doing this - but he's doing it without all the $ backing… bold.
And insane fitness.
that's pretty impressive. i wonder what sort of intensity/pace he's aiming to hit for each race though? full race pace for each event or what i would guess to be a more relaxed pace. to put numbers on it, if he was doing just one race and that effort was at 100% is he planning to do all 50 at 100% effort (which i don't see as possible) or is he going to reduce it to say 80%?

100%, even the first few days would seriously impact your performance after a couple of days… I would guess, at least for the biking bit, he'll try to stay in the 50-75% (power) range.
None the less… impressive challenge.

yeah his personal best in an ironman is just over 11 hours and an avg of about 12 hours it would seem. so i wonder what his avg time would be for this 50 in 50 thing, say an avg of around 15 hours? even at that he's going to be hard pressed to get a decent nights sleep every night. the more i think about it the more insane it becomes.
on a cool and apropos side note the guy is canadian, from calgary.

The Iron Cowboy has nearly done it…
I would love to see his rehab/prehab/maintenance routine during those 50 days.
Also, his diet.
There's nothing better than an Orangina after cheating death with Digger.
