The bass just dropped……

Expanded Rhythm Step gear options

Like its XTR sibling, DEORE XT M8000 offers 1x11, 2x11, and 3x11crank options to satisfy any type of rider ability level or terrain. New 2x11 and 3x11 M8000 drivetrains, expand range while maintaining even better rhythm when paired with an 11-40T cassette for optimized cadence control. An exciting addition for DEORE XT M8000 is a 1x11 specific 11-42T cassette that expands Shimano’s 1x11 gear range slightly over the race inspired 11-40T of XTR.

· HG-X11 specific tooth profile

· Aluminum spider

· Aluminum (40T/42T) and steel cogs

· Rhythm Step progression

Just keep that cassette at around $100 or less.

There's nothing better than an Orangina after cheating death with Digger.

this is just what I needed. All that one-up stuff never really appealed to me. Mickey mouse.

Looks like I'm making the jump from 9spd to 11 speed.

So I'll need: cassette, chain, rear D, and shifter pod. How much will all that cost?

I'm looking forward to this group very much… Biggest surprise was just how good the 1by crankset looks.

Now, I'm wondering if XTR with follow suit with a 11-42t cassette too. I'd rather the Ti large ring over an alu one; which was my only disappointment with this new group, I would have taken the weight penalty for a little greater longevity.

My question is whether the 11 speed Shimano cassette can be used with an 11 speed sram shifter, derailleur and chain.

Getting XD drivers for all my rear wheels is an expensive PITA. I am willing to forgo a 10t cog.

I did a little research and found that the 11 speed cassettes (Sram Shimano) have the same spacing.

Sweet. XT cassettes are a lot cheaper and easier to fit on multiple wheelsets that XX1 or X01

Just keep that cassette at around $100 or less.

MSRP in GBP appears to be 80 with USD prices to be determined. That comes out to closer to $150 for the cassette.

Also to answer other questions, same freehub, no XD driver needed.

Not a great indicator of price though. A Kona Process 153 DL is $5,399 CAD MSRP, but £3,999 in the UK, which is almost $7,300 CAD…

Ride, don't slide.

My guess would be you're waiting for SLX level for the $100 cassette, I'd wager MSRP will prob be around $150 for the XT.

Group looks great though! Available in the fall perhaps?
