Shimano stuff?

www.pricepoint.com

Does anyone know the story? If pricepoint has perminently lost shimano, thats a pretty big bummer as I use them the most for my online ordering needs. Im a sram guy, but I prefer shimano cassettes, front deraileurs, and, and…. well, thats it actualy, but still. Thats fucked up. Losing such a huge portion of their stock is a big deal.

Yea, my LBS does carry those products. I should know since I probably stocked them on the shelf

I was just curious as to what the deal was with Pricepoint cuz I used to buy from them alllllll the time in the past. I used to always support the local bike shop AND the online shops. I was on a budget. For most of us, supporting the local bike shops for EVERY part is just un-realistic. Hell, I work at the LBS and I understand this. Gotta love the intrawebs!!!

EDIT: Just cuz I work at a shop doesnt mean I can get every part in the world. For a handfull of parts I have to look in other places to get EXACTLY what I want. And the internet is the cheapest and easiest place to look.

Jenson seems to have picked up Shimano in a big way: full line, big discounts on certain parts (Saint cranks, for one).

Shimano starting discounting the Saint cranks late last year to move stock before the new ones appear… yes new ones!

Why Shimano cassettes?

I've always found SRAM cassettes to a way better value for the money.

Sram deffinatly has the value aspect, but I feel as though the ramping on shimano cassettes is a bit better. They seem to shift better. But SRAM value is undeniable. The difference is really minute, thats for sure, but… I do think shimano gets the nod. But only by a hair :D
