Who should I buy my wheel parts from and who should i get to build it?

So I have a thing for the New Atomlab Pimplite wheels. I either want the gold or green rims. Preferably the green.

Now Atomlab has quoted me for the 2 rims this:

2X Pimplite Rim 26x32h, Green 1RIM036G + shipping = 164.90

Just for two wheels, now I realize going a different color I could save loads of money. But I want the green ones. So my question. I'm sold on these rims, I don't want to look into something else.

Could I order them through a local shop for less? if so who.

Next question, I want these rims up on really fast rolling hubs. Hope/ChrisKing/etc etc. Now I can get a 20mm CK hub new for 200$, have no leads for a back hub. Would I be better off going with hopes? are they lighter. It would be nice to spend well under 500 for a set of hubs that were light/strong/with excellent bearings. Hope's seem to be 28 spoke? CK seem to be thirty six? help.

Suggestions, comments. I don't really care about the color of the hub. The idea is to have a same weight or lighter wheelset, that rolls much faster. Once I have the wheels built up, I'll figure out tires.

Oh and this is for a Sx trail. which has 20mm front/10x135mm rear…(I believe)

ps.EDIT. Rims are avaliable in 32 or 36 hole configurations.

Yeah, I've had my last three wheelsets built there by…Gary I believe. They've been Single tracks, s-types, and mtx's. I'm trying to move away from the ringle family. And I've been happy with him. Don't think they have access to Atomlab tho.

So where should I order my rims and hubs from, I'm okay with used hubs if they're in good working order. And what should i buy for hubs.

I thought you were thinking about ordering them in and getting it built at your choice of stores?

A hope ProII front paired with a King heavyduty/funbolt rear is a nice combo.

Learn how to build your own wheels. Pretty damn easy once you get the hang of it.
Buy parts, and read this.

Yeah I agree Hope Pro II hubs would be a good choice, but also, was the 160$ quote with nipples? because you can only run atomlab specific nipples in atomlab rims. They are 20$ per rim.

Looks like you can get two green pimplite rims from CRC for a "to your door price" of around $180. ($77 each + shipping)

Not a bad place to pick up a hope hub either…

As for hubs, it is either Hope or Hadley. I'm following some earlier advice and doing a mixed set. Hope Pro II up front, Hadley in the back.

I've had Hope Ti-Glide, XC, Bulbs and more recently Pro2s. I'd say that the sealing / bearings on the Pro2s aren't up to the quality of Hope's previous efforts. Anyway, if you want fast rolling, why not a good old cup / cone hub?
