Any difference between the white and yellow labels on Maxxis tyres?
Or is it simply to increase SKUs?

An article about Maxxis tire lettering at link. TL:dr - They are the same.
The white ones lean really well against trees. The yellow ones prefer thirsty beavers.
^ This makes the most sense for my lizard brain
AFAIK white lettering indicates OEM or take-offs, otherwise no difference. I have received white lettering on tires bought from a reputable online store. Could be OEM overstock?
yellow matches my santa cruz lettering and looks nice on the lavender paintjob,
I liked the Assegai/ Minion that came on the bike so I ordered the exact same tires from MEC & CRC
as oposed to buying some brand I would then be comparing to the maxxis for the next year
and everthing was exactly the same, $$$ for great tires that went on so easy

No no no. Niels is correct, final answer.

Sending out white lettering OEM for a retail purchase might not be ok with Maxxis but man the margin for that online retailer has gotta be stellar.
I used to work for a distributor, the out-the-back-door grey market deals could get ridiculous. I once bought a batch of name brand OEM BMX tires for $3 a pop.
