What do you guys think I should get 6 inch rotors or 8 inch rotors. I have already decided that I want the HFX-9 from Jensonusa.com but I don't know which size to get. I ride a Kona Stuff with a Marzocchi EXR and have heard that 8 inch discs would be to much torque on the bike. What do you think?

Ya, isn't there like an adapter for every problem? I don't know personally I am leaning towards 6 inchers because some people say that my bike will snap and that is the last thing I want to happen:eek:

8" purples, Stumpjumper Hardtail and a Manitou Slider.

The 8" is awesome, it takes some getting used to on the front, but once you have the lever dialed down a bit, braking power just doesn't stop.

Get the ones from Supergo. Hayes HFX Comps, pre-bled, rotors, adapters, etc. Everything you need, and for $200USD (or about $270 CDN). You won't find a better price around here.

Oh, and 6" will work fine. An 8" rotor will probably twist your fork a lot if you brake hard.

consider that the 8" rotor weighs almost twice as much as the 6"

A 6" hayes will probably have all the stopping power you need

my latest bike has avid cable's and I would say the power is as good as my hayes , they are way easier to work on and you are not going to have 50$ busted hoses and ugly bleed jobs

my take

It is not the weight that scares me off of the 8 inch rotors it is the fact that people are saying that my fork will break! Most people on here are saying go for the six inch rotors because of everything but the poll says that the 8 inchers are winning.I just need to decide by about sunday as I am getting them for my birthday and have to tell my parents which ones I want.:woot: I cant wait

get the 6 inch rotors for your bike until you can upgrade your fork then definatly get the 8 inches. i ride a stuff for trails and just everything, the 8 inch rotors have worked so good for this. The reason the 8s are winning in the ploes is b/c people just vote for which is better not which is better for you.
