what does the marketing man say?

I bet you couldn't tell the difference.

Time for Dean to do a blind feel test.

I'm glad that apparantly I'm not the only one addicted to Robot Unicorn Attack.

My brothers' FSA Orbit Z has been without any issues ever since he picked it up. That being said, I think I'll go with the XXc-Flush since it's a bit lower and lighter.

I'm curious, which way did you change the head angle on your Rune?

Thanks for the info Dean.

I really wanted to get a new bike this year but kitchen reno comes first (so I am told!) So I amanged to snag a new-old-stock version of my frame for $230. But I always wanted a slacker HA. Now I just have to double check the heat tube length on the new frame and I will be good to go!

Thanks again!

For sure - angleset seems one of the coolest things that a reducer headset affords. Changing your head angle without changing your suspension travel, what better way to dial in the feel of your bike, or a cheap way to get a change when you build the bike for a different purpose.

I've been using nothing but FSA pigs for years..

I've never had a problem , installed and forgot about it

they are awesome if u want cheap, reliable, strong

there are places were gucci are warranted, but a headset is not one of them if you ask me

For a counter-sample, I've had nothing but problems with my 1.5" looseball FSA lower cup (same as pig,) it's teamed with a ZS-type top cup and the thing constantly comes loose on my DH bike.

A buddy of mine had a similar experience with a 1.5 pig. wouldn't stay tight, and that was on a shore with a 1.5 domain.

That said, the orbit xtreme pro 1.5 on my Rune is excellent.

Moral? While you don't need to break the bank, spend the cake to get a cartridge bearing headset.

Check my stuff for sale!

I have run a loose ball pig for MANY years now and yes, they worked great as long as you kept it all greased up and happy. The reason I went with the hope is a lower stack height and it's half the weight of the FSA Pig DH Pro.

I thought the FSA Orbit Z Reducer was less than 140 grams?
