I dont love my fox r, i really want the avvy. But if i get the avvy i will only have 5" of travel. Since it is a 2.25" fork but only 2" once everything is together. I think i am going to call specialized, tell them i have a bighit DH, tell them that i broke the shock link. order a new one and then put a avvy on there with a 2.75" stroke. I am starting to hate my fox r. what do you think?

I would say that if you get a big link you would need more than a sherman… as for your plan to call specialized maybe I will try that …but won't htey make you send in a frame… hmmmm

just get a romic for set up for your style.
stick with the 6.3 inches of travel and you will have a sweet all around set up.
ohh and to the people telling him to get a hardtail i disagree, just because he isnt doing straight up dh doesnt mean fs isnt nice, i think there are some really rocky trails and stuff in ct. full suspension owns hardtails for trail riding imo, i ride a hardtail and a dually but basically i just street ride my hardtail, if i could have just one bike and mostly rode trails i would definitly get a dually, basically set up like his big hit as well, should be a awesome setup to, maybe get a swiger or fifth in the back to evenout the feel of the spv in the front. it might be weird with a super acctive bouncy rear and a ultra stable front.
why, are the avys super bouncy? I really like the looks of the avy too. But what are the prices of a romic?

They sell the linkage upgrade and it comes with a shock I believe. It is around 400 bucks. You don't need to say that you broke the link.
