Fitness/health.

in order of priority:

frame
fork
seat
drivetrain - i probably have at the most 6mo left on the current

A drivetrain lasts you 6 months? I'd like to know what you run.

For me it's fitness, same as Monty. Hernia took away last summer, and skiing has made my legs strong(freeheel, chainsnapping, strong), but my cardio is poop right now. I'd love to just take a pill and have my fitness back.

uh no, it's been on there at least a year and a half already, probably more. the bb/cranks are fine, but the cassette and chain are kind of ancient.

and you guys with your fitness issues - come on already, that's the easiest thing to fix! stop being so lazy :P

Another vote for dropper post.
Also, Fork [HTML_REMOVED][HTML_REMOVED][HTML_REMOVED][HTML_REMOVED][HTML_REMOVED][HTML_REMOVED][HTML_REMOVED][HTML_REMOVED][HTML_REMOVED] Frame.

The frame is the heart of the bike followed by wheels and suspension components about equal to me. Wheels make a bigger difference on a hardtail than a fork overall especially a shorter travel fork. Then drivetrain and everything else is comfort and convenience more or less. Dropper posts are very good though, as long as they work.

Debate? Bikes are made for riding not pushing.

A dropper post…..that actually works and remains working for more than a year.

Tried almost all of them, and all of them have failed. Come on, one properly functioning dropper post! It's all I ask.

Wheels are really important, but having tried many different forks on the same bikes, I think that fork is more important than the frame, even more so on a hardtail (of course, if the geometry is totally mental, then the frame becomes more of an issue).

Replacing mechanical disc brakes with decent hydraulic brakes has given me balls the size of grapefruit. Colour this girl impressed.
