I think Devinci is still keeping their pricing low-ish on the new 2016 Troy, according to the last NSMB article showcasing the model the base aluminum model can be had for around $2850 - one of the only manufacturers offering a pretty solid spec for under $3g's.
If you're on a budget and don't mind riding 26" wheels, Devinci actually still offers a pretty killer Dixon model for under $2500 complete with Pike etc - not stellar parts spec, but not bad.
I'm shopping for a new bike in 2016 and just knocked Giant off the list as well as many others whose prices are going up. It's not that I can't pay $3-7k for a new bike, just find it harder and harder to justify shelling out that kind of cash on a bike that the industry will probably make obsolete in a few years.
Plus my 26" frame is still under lifetime warranty…maybe I should just thrash on it for a few more years and see what kind of replacement I get when it breaks.
