What Alu Tubless rims have you've been happy most with

I'm looking to get a new aluminum rim on my current hub. What current brands have you had the most success with?

My current rim has been quite strong laterally but the bead dents more than any other rim I've used, and it's been a b*tch to seat a tire bead since new (maxxis, spec). I've used Roval and Race Face previously, which were not as laterally stiff but the bead didn't dent so easily and were both a breeze to seat a tire.

27.5, 32H, 29mm/30mm internal.

Sorry to derail this immediately... when my new bike came with carbon hoops I was super close to just selling them right away... I couldn't imagine they'd work.  Then a year later I realized I only have to replace the odd spoke and not three or four rims a year, I became an evangelical convert.

I'm a heavy dude riding fast in the bike park.  They are a big deal and worth it if you are a mountain biking enthusiast.

Not quite your stated spec, but I've been happy with my Spank Spike 33 Race rims.

26 (I'm sure 27.5 is available), 32h, 28mm internal.

The older Easton/Race Face ARC rims dent like they’re made out of cheese. The new ARC Offset are made out of a different alloy that they say is stronger. I have an ARC Offset 25 but haven’t really put it through the paces yet, so we’ll see.

I ran Stans Flow and Arch MK3 last year and both have been pretty good but like to crack at the eyelets if spokes are over-tensioned (doesn’t seem to take much).

This is going back a few years, but I’ve been happiest with Stans Flow EX and WTB i23. Both of these rims worked well without much fuss. The Flow EX3 looks like a good idea for a rear wheel, but man is it heavy.

If I were shopping for wheels, I’d take a good look at We Are One Movement wheels. You get Agent or Insider rims on i9 101 hubs for $1275 CAD. WAO has some new rims out and these are the old ones, but the price is comparable with a set of high-end alloy wheels, and there’s a lifetime warranty and a track record of people riding them hard over the past couple of seasons without issue.

Beat the crap out of them. They have stayed true and only one spoke snap in a year of use. Still rolling them.

I'm happy with the Raceface Turbine wheels, and they are much easier to manage and work with than my last set of DT Swiss E1700 Splines.

I was researching this very question recently and everyone I spoke with loves the DT Swiss EX 511. A little bit heavy but most had used them for a long time and were still holding air nicely.

Yup, happy with my e13 LG1+ (not sure what the + stands for?). They are on my DH bike.

So far totally solid at both ends and that's after years and years of going through rims like there was no tomorrow.

Spank 395 Oozy with Stans race sealant and Maxxis tires. Got my 1st flat in 2 years a couple weeks back . folded the rim edge over. Hammered it out at home , re-taped and new sealant and riding it again. 29" 2cross lace on 32 hole Tairin Shogun hubs, used their spokes and nipples as well. I broke the hub axle as well casing a lip , had a replacement in less than 24hrs.

Are Spank rims not much of a headache to mount tires on? My biggest gripe with the Tairin rims is mounting the tire, it's horrible I've never had such a hard time seating a tire.

I had issues with the narrower 260 26" version .but with the 345 and 395 never had a issue. Tairin does offer a newer Hookless rim now . Jose and I chatted about it last week. Not sure if they are on their site.

The bead on the spike race 33 is the tightest I've seen, had to soap it and inflate to 50psi to get it to seat.

Not rolling off in a hurry though...

Stans Flow MK3 on two bikes. Solid rim at a light weight. I also have run spank 345 trail wheelset and those feel a bit heavier but are definitely solid.

I'm leaning towards one of the many Spank rims or an MK3. 

I can't see what the difference is between the Spank 345 and 350 other than 20 grams and $10

Anyone recommend a shop to get this built?
