Washing a Camelbak, the actual pack...

Anyone ever wash their Camelbak? The actual pack part, not the reservoir.

I've been using mine for a couple of seasons now, and it doesn't really seem to air out anymore, and it sort of constantly smells. Gross. I want to wash it, but I'm not sure if it's a throw it in the machine sort of wash, or hand wash, or Febreze the hell out of it…

Thanks!

Put it in the mesh bag from leg pads and wash it in the machine with hot water and a second rinse.

The mesh bag makes it so the straps don't get all wrapped up around the agitator in the machine.

or next time you wash your car, throw it in the bucket of soapy water and then just hose the crap out of it

Check out your local pet supply store and look for Nature's Miracle stain/odour remover. I find that just washing w laundry soap doesnt always fully get the odor out. You can probably machine wash but I prefer to soak [HTML_REMOVED] handwash

Front load washer. I've washed mine a few times with no problems.

Mr. Clean (yes the floor washing stuff) and hand wash in the bathtub (or laundry) sink.

Same technique for washing armour too.

NSMB community rocks. If you've got an issue/problem, someone else has a fix/solution. Just last week I was asking myself the same question about washing my pack. I contemplated having to buy a whole new pack. Beers all around, I'll buy :)

I use this soap from Stupidstore for all my sportswear, armour and shoes. Does a pretty good job at keeping the funk out!

It will probably do a great job on all the leg shaving roadies lycra nut huggers as well.

I don't see the HE symbol on that, do you know if its safe to use with a front loading washer?

Being cheap is OK. Being a clueless sanctimonious condescending douchebag is just Vlad's MO.

We have had our front load machine for 13 years this summer, have been using that soap for the last few years with no ill results.

Just don't use that much!
