I thought it was the new super low handlebar.

Edit: And by that I mean a potential performance benefit that is exaggerated and universalized often to the point of detriment.

The stiffer your suspension and tires are the bigger your e-penis gets.

I rode Wade's 650 b rocky and yes what a stiff setup. The wide bars and suspension set up really made me feel like this was a different bike than mine. Mine is set up super plush. For only inch and a half bigger wheels, it really was different, felt like I was on a way bigger bike. For the future we will have to see how this plays out. Personally there will always be the " i difference of opinions ,but at least there will be another thing mtbers need to try.
ps. indoor opens tuesday come race.practice or cheer.

Every time I've ever heard or read about average joe testing out a pro riders bike they always seem to remark how stiff it's set up. Reality is, pro riders hit everything 10x harder and faster than average joe does. At the speeds they ride that set up likely feels plush.

hey now, let's keep this sophisticated.

We don't know what our limits are, so to start something with the idea of being limited actually ends up limiting us.

New trend: bigger wheels and stiff suspension to make it feel like a 26er;)

Personally I like my front to have good mid stroke support. But it's a personal thing, and depends on how and what terrain you ride. i can't say it's stiff per se (kind of subjective) but I definitely don't go by sag with the fork.

People who are stating that whomever runs stiff set-ups and hard tires because they hate bottoming out and getting flat tires, are correct! I really despise changing flats and I don't mind compromising some traction to never (knock on wood) flat. It's kinda fun slipping around more.
And also like a few people mentioned, I too, don't like sitting half way into my travel when descending.
When you start to punch into stuff hard - the suspension she a moves!!

Hey, so what's the pressure your running in those tires? Forgot to say, it felt like using Wayne Gretzky's stick as he is watching!

E=MC^2… the faster u ride, the more energy your suspension (and body) soak up… pretty straight fwd… the biggest thing i hate about soft suspension is how my geo steepens at exactly the wrong moment… proper suspension setup means a rider can shred more aggressively and with more confidence
